Using a vinyl record as the canvas
Queen allows the listener of their art to also decide the meaning, as I like to do with my art and this upcoming piece, I like to do this because it is not my place to tell someone what to think
The freedom to create art for the enjoyment of doing so
Queen never took anything to seriously, they made what they thought was good, and made it perfect in their own eyes and then released it into the world. That is beautiful to me, creating for the act of creating, not to please people or make them think a certain way.
Acrylic paint as my second medium because it is my favorite medium and I can make things look the way I want them to with it, and it is the only medium I can think of that will work on vinyl records
I chose Queen as my main research point because they are my number one inspiration in art and life. Creating art based around their ideals or their image is always my favorite art to make and it brings me happiness to do so. I am taking this opportunity in this class to dive into and create something I really enjoy
I have many books on queen that I use as research along with information I get on the internet, documentaries, interviews, and their songs.
Because of my love of Queen I also have a lot of information that I just know from many years of being a fan
